The event will serve as a platform to connect disabled students and recent graduates with inclusive employers, support services, and career development opportunities.
The fair aims to address the barriers disabled students face in transitioning from education to employment, while promoting equality, accessibility, and meaningful inclusion in the workplace.
WHY PARTICIPATE?
Addressing Inequality in Employment Outcomes
Disabled students face systemic barriers to employment, including unconscious bias, lack of accessible opportunities, and limited employer understanding of reasonable adjustments. A careers fair tailored to their needs directly confronts these inequalities by creating a platform where accessibility, inclusion, and understanding are the foundation—not an afterthought.
Empowering Students Through Representation and Support
Many disabled students lack role models in the workplace who share similar lived experiences. This careers fair provides them with access to inclusive employers, disability-confident professionals, and specialist careers support—helping them feel seen, empowered, and optimistic about their career paths.
Connecting Inclusive Employers With Untapped Talent
This event is also a unique opportunity for employers committed to diversity and inclusion. It allows them to engage with a pool of talented, driven students who are often overlooked due to systemic barriers rather than lack of potential. It's a step toward inclusive hiring and a stronger, more diverse workforce.

Beyond employer interaction, the fair can include workshops, CV clinics, and mock interviews specifically tailored to navigating recruitment as a disabled applicant. This helps boost confidence and equips students with practical skills that reflect their unique strengths and needs.

Organizing this event supports the Equality Act 2010 and reflects the institution's commitment to widening participation, inclusive education, and equitable graduate outcomes. It demonstrates proactive leadership in tackling employment disparities faced by disabled graduates.
