This includes being Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing.&nbsp; All three groups have very different needs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International day of disabled persons aims to \u201cpromote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society\u201d.&nbsp;Take a minute to appreciate the access you might have to emergency services in your own language, such as a visit to the hospital, bank, police station etc. This is certainly not the case for many Deaf South Africans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through eDeaf\u2019s NPC, DEAFinition, we offer a basic course in SA Sign Language (SASL) accessible to more people, in their own time and at their own pace.&nbsp;Even corporate companies are opting for our online option as it is not always easy to get large groups together in one room due to staff shifts or impromptu meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hearing people can learn to sign, but Deaf people can\u2019t learn to hear.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During this course you will learn the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conversation skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicating with deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be able to provide and ask for information using SASL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to work with an interpreter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Myths and facts about the Deaf community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And more \u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are running a special offer from 1 December \u2013 31 December for persons wanting to learn basic SASL online during this time you will pay only R99 for the course during the month of December.
