{"id":6390,"date":"2022-07-19T15:20:02","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T13:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/disabilityconnect.co.za\/?p=6390"},"modified":"2022-07-19T15:20:02","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T13:20:02","slug":"r67-for-your-67-minutes-throughout-mandela-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.disabilityconnectexpo.com\/index.php\/2022\/07\/19\/r67-for-your-67-minutes-throughout-mandela-month\/","title":{"rendered":"R67 for your 67-minutes throughout Mandela Month"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gauteng Provincial Association for Persons with Disabilities call to action for Mandela day is to challenge individuals and companies to make a difference in the lives of the disabled by donating a minimum of R67 for your 67 minutes through Mandela month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are encouraging companies to challenge all their employees and suppliers to contribute R67 and match the contribution made by GPAPD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GPAPD is BBBEE compliant and we can issue a tax certificate for all your individual or corporate contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0Your contribution of R67 will go towards the following needs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Buying assistive devices such as wheelchairs for the disabled<\/li><li>Buying food parcels for the impoverished disabled persons and their families who are in need<\/li><li>4 Skills development training aimed at empowering the disabled in Gauteng<\/li><li>Travelling costs for our Social Workers to enable them to reach and service the disabled.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Background to GPAPD<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gauteng Provincial Association for Persons with Disabilities (GPAPD)&nbsp; is&nbsp; a registered non-profit organization that came into existence in 2008 and responded to a provincial need for advocacy&nbsp; \/ lobbying for the rights of persons with disabilities, empowerment, mentorship to organizations rendering a similar service, skills training&nbsp; and job placements for persons with&nbsp; disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, GPAPD provides Social Work services to people with disabilities, their families and significant others in and around Gauteng focusing more especially on townships and informal settlements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take Action!
