Isuzu Motors South Africa has unveiled tennis player Kgothatso \u201cKG\u201d Montjane as its new brand ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s the latest investment in the South African sports space for the local motor manufacturer and follows its partnerships with the Blue Bulls rugby team and the Corporate Ironman race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Montjane has been ranked the number one wheelchair tennis player in Africa for 11 consecutive years and is South Africa\u2019s first black women\u2019s Wimbledon finalist in both singles and doubles. She\u2019s currently ranked fifth in the world on the ITF World Wheelchair Tennis rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Polokwane, Limpopo with a congenital birth defect, Montjane went through a single amputation below the knee at the age of 12. At 19 she began her tennis career when she received the equipment necessary to play wheelchair tennis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Montjane represented South Africa at the 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 Paralympics, and became the first African player to compete in a wheelchair tennis Grand Slam at the 2013 Australian Open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
